Police spent much of the weekend searching for the women, after a couple were injured during a robbery from a Tingira Street home on Friday night.
Police allege the two women attended the house about 7pm, where they spoke to a 38-year-old female occupant of the home.
When the occupant entered the home, police allege the two women then followed, punching her to the head.
The injured woman made a desperate call for help and a 44-year-old male resident of the home rushed to her assistance.
Police allege that when the man saw the two female offenders were armed with a hammer and a machete, he armed himself with a sword.
A violent scuffle ensued and the man was struck to his left hand, causing a severe laceratio.
He was able to run from the home and seek assistance.
The two offenders then armed themselves with other swords from the home, and allegedly stole cash and personal papers, before fleeing on foot towards Cole Road.
Emergency services were contacted and police officers from Oxley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Officers made a call for public assistance to help locate the armed women, as a targeted search unfolded.
Oxley Detective Sergeant Jason Darcy told The Leader a 26-year-old Moree woman was arrested in a West Tamworth home on Saturday afternoon in relation to the violent attack.
She was charged with two counts of robbery, and was refused bail in Tamworth Court on Sunday morning.
About 12 hours after the initial arrest, a tip-off from a member of the public led police to the car park of Robert Street, West Tamworth, where they arrested the second woman on Sunday morning.
The 34-year-old was in the process of being charged on Sunday afternoon, but Detective Sergeant Darcy believed she would face similar charges to her co-offender.
The male occupant of the home, who was treated at the scene and rushed to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for surgery, was released on Sunday.
The woman who was allegedly punched in the attack did not require further medical treatment.
Detective Sergeant Darcy said the occupants of the home were not facing any charges at this stage.
