Warwick Farm horsemen David Pfieffer and Garry Neale are putting horses on the float with the lure of $30,000 races in mind.
Pfieffer’s As Good As It Gets tackles a $30,000 Benchmark 55 Handicap (1600m), while Neale saddles up Motivate in a $30,000 Class 1 Handicap (1200m).
Despite the Country Music Cup being the feature race, it is not the most lucrative event on the card with a $40,000 Maiden attracting a capacity field.
Gunnedah trainer Sally Torrens saddles up Defying Luck in the race, which has also attracted horses from Tamworth, Inverell, Scone, Muswellbrook, Taree, Gulgong and Quirindi.
“It is fantastic from Racing NSW to run a $40,000 Maiden in our region,” Torrens said.
The bumper eight-race program starts with the first at 2.05pm and the last at 6.25pm on a track rated a Soft 5 on Thursday.
