The lights are going up, the stage is built. Bicentennial Park in Tamworth is transforming. It’s going to be one heck of a show. And it’s all thanks to this team.
Rewind: it’s Tuesday afternoon, January 17. The Tamworth Country Music Festival kicks off on Friday. There isn’t any doubt summer has arrived.
All reports suggest the next few weeks will be a scorcher. Even by 11am, the mercury is already above 30 degrees in Tamworth. And it’s only getting hotter. It would peak at 37 at 5.30pm.
In Bicentennial Park, the Toyota Stage is taking shape. The scaffold is up, the lights are hoisted into place. Zooper Dooper packets litter the floor. A crew of stage technicians are hard at work to finish a final audio check before the show gets underway:
