She’s been out on the road with fellow Americana-influenced artist Andrew Swift, and the pair have been performing at caravan parks along the coast.
For Ziller, she couldn’t miss a chance to visit Tamworth again - it’s her 11th year visiting the city with many of them back to back Festival trips.
“I love coming to Tamworth,” she said.
“I was thinking the other day that the first time I went there was 11 years ago, and I’ve been there six or seven times straight - it’s always the highlight of my year. It’s also a great way to start the musical year.
“I’ve got some new songs and I’ve just recorded an album - I haven’t released it yet but I’ll sneakily put a few songs in the set.”
Ziller said she not only enjoys performing at the Festival but also catching up with her friends who are artists.
“You’re all so busy doing your own gigs and tours that you don’t get to see your friends until you get to Tamworth,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to my show with Jeremy Edwards and Michael Waugh - I haven’t played with Jeremy before but I’m really excited to hear him live.
“Michael is amazing, he’s got a golden guitar nomination, along with a few of my other friends - so I really don’t know who to root for.”
You can catch Gretta Ziller, Michael Waugh and Jeremy Edwards at the Econolodge (formerly Frog and Toad) - Frog & Toad Listening Room on Saturday, January 28 at 1pm.
