The singer-songwriter will release Love Without Co-Dependency at the Tamworth Services Club on Wednesday, January 25, where it will mark the end of a journey to the release that started when he was 15 years old.
“I was writing songs and playing music when I was 15. I wanted to be a songwriter, then I kind of got caught up in getting a real job,” Henry said.
“I didn't play the guitar from 19 until 32, I didn't write, or play or do music.
“Then I went through a break-up and picked up the guitar, feeling sad and sorry for myself. I started writing again and a couple of years after [that] I decided it wasn't a bad idea to try and sing them somewhere.”
Henry's decision brought him to the Academy of Country Music in Tamworth in 2011 where he said it was the first time he sang in front of a crowd of people, and from there his relationship with the Country Music Capital was cemented.
He said from then on the festival had a special place in his heart, which paved the way for his album launch.
“It makes sense to launch the album there, it kind of feels like my home away from home.
“For me to have an album out - some people have done it three for four times by the time they're 25 - but for me to have an album out is a massive accomplishment in my life and my story. Anything that happens from here is a bonus really.”
The album, Love Without Co-Dependency, follows The Best That They Could Do - the first release from the forthcoming album.
Henry will perform Late Night Alt on Wednesday, January 25 at the Tamworth Services Club and Cake and Cordial Sessions at St Paul's Anglican Church Hall on Friday, January 27.
