Just after noon, Fire and Rescue crews from 205 Alpha and Bravo 475 Uralla crews responded to a house fire in Handle Street.
On arrival, crews were confronted with a single-level house fully involved in fire.
Three Fire and Rescue crews, with support from the Rural Fire Service, extinguished the blaze within 45 minutes.
Three occupants where lucky to escape, with one person being conveyed to hospital by ambulance suffering minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Fire crews have a re-issued a reminder to everyone that working smoke alarms save lives.
