Caden-trained trio Larnach Lass, Sunnyside Style and Celebrity Ink won races three, 11 and 12 respectively while the Bell-trained duo Lektra Fella and Sketchy Mckenzie won the fifth and seventh races.
Ronald Whitton of Wee Waa, Mark Munn of Tamworth, Trevor Rice of Wedderburn, Peter Midson of Werris Creek, Stephen Casey of Doubtful Creek, Glenda Bush of Gunnedah and Evelyn Harris of Whiteman Creek notched one victory apiece.
Race one was won by one of the equal-favourites while amazingly, none of the remaining 11 races were won by a favourite.
The biggest surprises were in races six and seven as the winners had respective starting prices (SPs) of $9 and $8 while the SPs of the respective favourites were $2 and $1.70.
The first four and last five races were 347m, and races five and six were 440m while race seven was 512m.
Races one, two, four, six, seven, eight, 11 and 12 had a field of seven, and races five, nine and 10 had a field of eight while race three had a field of six as several of the races had scratchings.
The Whitton-trained Amarli Rose won the opening race by 0.75 lengths after being one of four greyhounds with an SP of $3.
In race two, the Munn-trained Billi’s Scout won by six lengths after being the fourth favourite.
Billi’s Scout had been getting closer to a win after having successive placings of fourth, third and second.
Hayden Munn, the son of Mark, said being in box number one was preferable for Billi’s Scout.
“She is young too, (and) still learning,” Hayden Munn said.
Larnach Lass and the Rice-trained Rose Of India won the next two races by 3.5 lengths, before Lektra Fella won by four lengths.
“Coming back to the country, he was back to his best,” Bell said of Lektra Fella which had had three fifth placings and an eighth placing in the past two months.
“He hasn’t been going bad, but he’s been racing against very good dogs.”
Bell anticipated that Lektra Fella would go well on his home track, and that being in box number two was suitable as he liked being near the rail.
The Midson-trained Fire Fly Huei won race six by 4.25 lengths, before Sketchy Mckenzie won race seven by five lengths.
The Casey-trained Country Best won race eight by 2.25 lengths, before the Bush-trained Ignite The Kitty won race nine by 4.5 lengths.
The Harris-trained Dark Sprite won race 10 by 2.25 lengths, before Sunnyside Style and Celebrity Ink won by 3.5 and 6.5 lengths respectively.
Gunnedah hosts another meet this coming Saturday.
