Created by Bruce Arntson, and starring Bruce Arntson, Jenny Littleton and Matt Carlton, The Doyle & Debbie Show will run two performances daily in The Star Room, TRECC, during the festival.
The Doyle & Debbie Show, featuring all-original songs, is sublime homage and parody, simultaneously idolising and lampooning country music’s tradition of iconic duos and the battle of the sexes that accompany them.
Bruce Arntson and Jenny Littleton wield the vocals of vintage country stars and the acting chops of Broadway veterans, taking audiences on a freewheeling joyride through a wickedly funny script and score – all delivered with utmost sincerity.
The original musical will transform The Star Room into a relaxed honky-tonk bar where beer, pizza and lots of laughs will be the order of the night and an experience not to be missed.
Over the past eight years, Doyle and Debbie have developed a rabid cult following in Nashville, many of whom have seen the show over a dozen times – everyone from theatre-going professionals to college students who wouldn't be caught dead in a theatre or a country bar.
Now it’s Australia’s and Tamworth’s chance to experience it – with limited seating, don’t be among those that miss out. The show contains adult themes, and the age restriction is 15 and over.
Icehouse was formed by Iva Davies and are one of those bands who have managed to transcend age groups with a career spanning 40 years.
Generations of music lovers have been brought up with hits such as Crazy, Electric Blue, We Can Get Together, Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl and Man Of Colours to name a few.
Icehouse have sold more than three million albums in Australia, more than nine million internationally, and have achieved 28 platinum album sales in Australasia. They have had eight Top 10 albums and more than 30 Top 40 singles.
Icehouse and Iva Davies have won many awards including the Countdown Award for the Most Popular Male Performer and ARIA Awards for the Best Album and Highest Selling Album for Man of Colours.
The band was inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.
In June 2013, Iva was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for “significant service to the music and entertainment industry” as a songwriter and performer, and to the community.
One of Australia’s greatest live acts, they are set to present a show not to be missed.
Following the fashion of icons in the music industry, Icehouse celebrate 40 Years Live! when the tour visits Tamworth on February 25, 7.30pm with guest artists Pseudo Echo and Mat McHugh at TRECC.
Tickets for these shows and more are available online at trecc.com.au or by phone on 6766 2028 or in person at Capitol Theatre Box Office or The Big Golden Guitar.
