Emergency services were called to the Bowling Club shortly after 5pm after locals noticed smoke rising from the roof of the building.
Four Rural Fire Service crews raced to the scene, along with two crews from NSW Fire and Rescue. Liverpool Range RFS Inspector Tim Butcher said when crews arrived it was too late to save the building which was fully engulfed by flames.
Inspector Butcher said the intensity of the blaze meant crews were unable to conduct a “primary search” of the building however it’s understood no one was inside at the time.
“We have been unable to complete a primary search due to the intensity of the fire,” he said.
Late on Tuesday, Inspector Butcher said crews were able to contain the blaze to the bowling club and prevent it from spreading and were hoping to gain further access to the site.
An investigation is expected to get under way on Wednesday.
