Melbourne-based author Scott Whitaker spoke to scores of locals at Werris Creek library last week as he celebrates the release of his new book, Railway Hotels of Australia.
“It was great to see the interest people had in this topic and Scott did not disappoint as he covered the coming of the railway, the social development of regional NSW and tips on researching genealogy as well as local and state history,” said Werris Creek librarian Marilyn Deeks.
“We have a copy of Scott’s book here at the library so people who missed the talk can still get to see it.
“In this day and age it is important that people realise our libraries are places of information. When most people think library, they think books.
“And while that is certainly true, these days books take different shapes, such as e-books and audio books.”
