Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) will meet for the final time this year on Tuesday night, where councillors will consider 47 items.
TRC prepared a subdivision proposal for site and called for expressions of interest (EOI), but the report to be tabled said there was “strong enquiry from a number of parties” only one submission was received.
The report recommended not to proceed further with the EOI because “the proposed development does not reflect council’s aspirations”.
It’s recommended that council progress the subdivision and rezone the land from “public recreation” to “commercial core”.
“Council will proceed to seek potential purchasers for the site and may undertake a further expression of interest process for the sale and development of the velodrome site,” the report said.
