Men of Tamworth and the region have joined together to change the face of men’s health with the ever-growing Movember initiative.
Tamworth Regional Council and and Rural Fit have partnered to raise funds and change the male mindset about being proactive with their well-being.
On Thursday, council and Rural Fit will host a barbecue at the Tamworth Regional Playground where locals are invited to enjoy a sausage sizzle and are offered a timely health check up, consisting a blood pressure and and blood sugar testing, for a gold coin donation.
For the past four years, council employees have embraced the national Movember campaign which raises awareness of men’s health issues during the month of November.
Since 2013, Council has raised over $4,800 for the cause and with this year’s tally already over $1,500 it is shaping up to be one of their biggest efforts yet.
