Hamilton looking good for back to back club championships

Dave Hamilton is on target to defend his Tamworth Club Championship.

Hamilton leads A grade by seven shots from Brendan Shoemark after the first two rounds.

The defending champion fired 71 on Saturday and followed up with a best of the round 68 on Sunday, while Shoemark carded 70 and 76.

John Trevaskis sits in third with 75 and 72.

The competition is extremely tight in B grade with a three-way tie for the lead after Max Haestier (89 and 78), Bruce Stehr (82 and 85) and David Harrison (84 and 83) all tallied 167.

Les Jacob heads the field in C grade after a consistent weekend, shooting 88 and 87, from Peter Smitham (92 and 87) and Stephen Butler (90 and 89).

The final two rounds of the championships will be played Saturday and Sunday.

Before that the ladies champion will be decided with the third round to be played Tuesday and final round Thursday.
