Albion reached its target of 122 in just the 20th over of the run chase at Wolseley Park while Court House needed less than 23 overs to achieve its 131-run target at Kitchener Park.
At Wolseley Park, Eddie McGuirk top-scored for his new club with 47 not out while most of Albion’s bowlers were tidy, before Albion opener Andy Mack scored a somewhat chancy 62.
Kookaburras batsman Paddy Paul deemed that the Kookaburras needed another 30 runs to make a game of it, as the team missed several regular players.
Albion’s James Mack considered there was “a little bit of rust still in the system” but that the Albion team was not too bad across the board while Andy Mack stood out.
At Kitchener Park, six Court House bowlers shared the wickets as Mornington was dismissed in 36.2 overs, with opener Tariq Habib (42) top-scoring after being dropped early on.
Mornington’s Bruce Hockings rued the team conceding 19 runs in wides as Mornington failed to stick to its plan of bowling stump-to-stump.
Court House’s Jay Urquhart made 53 while Sam Doubleday scored 31 after taking 2-27 beforehand.
