URALLA Shire Council has voted Robert Bell to serve mayor Michael Pearce’s deputy for the next 12 months, following a vote at their meeting this week.

Cr Bell has some history with Uralla council, previously employed as the shire’s director of engineering.
Natasha Ledger and Isabel Strutt also nominated for the position and were givent the opportunity to address the council.
Following the presentations, Cr Bell was elected with a majority of five votes and will stand in the position until September next year.
Cr Pearce will serve as mayor for the next four years after becoming the shire’s first popularly chosen mayor at this year’s election.
