Tamworth’s Under 16 water polo squad flew out of Tamworth Sunday night determined to make a significant splash at the 2016 National Club Championships in Brisbane this week. Twenty nine teams from across the nation will contest the championships with squads from University of WA, University of NSW, Cronulla and the Sunshine Coast among the top seeds.

Tamworth’s ten-man squad, coached by Ian Moxon, is aiming to upset some of their more fancied rivals. The squad has been in preparation for the Nationals for the past three months, training three nights a week and has recently returned from some tough practice matches in Newcastle against the Hunter outfit who are seeded ninth at the championships. The Tamworth squad is Lachlan Wheeler (goalie) Kane Clinch, Will Clinch, Isaac Moxon, Pat Hofman, Jake Mitchell, James Newberry, Edmund Bourke, Luke Johnstone and Alex Taggart.
