POLICE are searching for a suspect and a weapon after a person produced a shortened firearm in Mullaley.

The male entered a hotel late on Thursday evening and pulled the weapon.
The cause or motive of the incident were unknown, police said on Friday.
“A male suspect produced a shortened firearm, it’s alleged, at Mullaley in the hotel area late in the evening,” a spokesperson said.
“Police made inquiries [Thursday] night and are now following up those inquiries.”
Police say they have been given a description of the person of interest.
