Cr Pearce got a ringing endorsement from the shire, picking up 43.85 per cent of the first-preference votes for the top job.
But he’s not across the line just yet, Cr Pearce needs to get to 50 per cent before it’s official. He will only need a small number of preferences to get over the line, but his rise to mayor will have significant bearing on the final makeup of Uralla’s council.
Also a candidate for Ward B in Uralla, Michael Pearce secured 583 first-preference votes, which will be reallocated according to the number two preferences.
Tamworth won’t know the final makeup of its council until Friday.
