At 5pm on Tuesday, just 7432 people had pre-poll voted for the Tamworth Regional Council election, a figure the NSW electoral commission say is tracking below projected figures.
There are 43,338 people enrolled to vote in the Tamworth council area, so the electoral commission are eager to smoke voters out.
“This number is currently below our projected votes for this time in the election so we are anxious to get the message out to electors to vote early if they can’t get to a polling place on election day,” an electoral commission spokesperson said.
Tamworth’s returning office at 498 Peel St is open for pre-poll voting from 8.30am to 5.30pm
