The school was among a handful of institutions from the New England North West region to participate in the annual Newcastle Permanent Primary School Mathematics Competition.
The competition has been running for 36 years, with the local school one of 337 in regional NSW to take part in the event this year. In all, 19,000 students put pen to paper for the competition on Wednesday.
"They enjoyed the challenge and it's good to give them those opportunities to sine,” Timbumburi teacher Andrew McDonald told The Leader.
"This would be the fourth year in a row for us,” he said. “It's good to give kids opportunities to excel themselves in a range of areas, not just sport but we also do debating and chess here, we like to cover all areas including academic."
