Seventy students from Calrossy Primary travelled down for the carnival, with the school placing third overall on the day, out of eight schools competing in the highest division.
It was a great team effort by everyone involved to secure a podium finish, and there were some fantastic individual efforts on the day.
Year Five student, Sam Holmes was a standout performer, breaking a long-standing record in the 10 years boys’ discus with an amazing throw of 30.32 metres.
Lachlan Rasmussen also broke the record in the 200 metre AWD class.
The 8-year-old Calrossy boys were not to be overshadowed, taking out the championship for their age group.
A number of students will now be off to CIS as part of the HRIS team.
