The Greyhounds will now host Aberdeen Tigers in this Sunday's minor semi-final despite the Tigers overrunning Denman 76-16.
Tiger second rower Travis Bateman crossed for five tries in that win but it wasn't enough to win the minor semi off a Singleton side which struck early against Muswellbrook at Pirtek Park.
Greyhound props Jacob Miller and Chris Martin were strong up front with lock Joe Upward as well .
Chad Solman's kicking game was also enormous on the back of that platform against a Muswellbrook side best served by Jeff Saarikko and Ryan Holman. Rams players’ player was Jackson Anshaw while under 18 half back Paul Dengate also came off the bench to score a second half try.
At Greta Oval the Scone Thoroughbreds were dominant again up front with props James Barker and Wes Suckley leading the way, as they have all season. The game also finished six or seven minutes early as well in what was a good hit out for the Thoroughbreds before their August 13 major semi at home to Muswellbrook.
