The championships got underway on Friday with Tamworth fielding sides in the Over 35s, Over 40s and Over 50s divisions.
New England also has a strong representation.
At the other end of the age spectrum there was some good news during the week for some of the region’s brightest young prospects.
Tamworth's Nicholas O’Connor and New England's Rohan Lawrence were named in the NSW U13s State side, and Tamworth's Chris Taggart and New England's Tyler McCann are in the Blues side to contest the National Championships in Perth from September 29 to October 8.
Services Workies and Olympians coach Andrew Farmilo will also be headed over there as assistant coach of the State side.
The finalising of the boys’ squads followed the announcement of the girls State and Blues sides to play at the same time.
Tamworth's Dakota Barnett-Suey and Amber Whitney, and New England's Chelsea Thornton were successful in making the State side while Tamworth's Georgia Horniman and Isabella Cameron gained selection in the Blues side, of which Helen Willis has been appointed assistant coach of.
Ehren Hazell was also this week one of six NSW players named in the 2016 National Futures Group.
The National Futures Group is made of players that have been earmarked as being exceptionally talented and whom have demonstrated characteristics that project toward international standard performance levels.
