The four-year-old mare was bought for just $2000 a few weeks ago by Brian Betts and his son, Robert.
They gave her to Ian "Spud" Verning to train and she showed in two unplaced runs at Tamworth where she was not far off a win.
On Thursday, she stormed home to win the inaugural running of the $7140 Nevele R Stud Breeding Barn Classic (1980m) by 1.5m from Iownaturbo (Michael Grima).
The runner-up had a tough run but surged clear at the 500m to lead into the straight and beat all bar a swooping and whooping Tom Ison and Wise Goddess.
An $18 chance, she collected $4200 for her owners plus a little bit at the tote window as well.
"I was pretty confident," Tom Ison said in reply to racecourse interviewer Mark Lowe's question of how he was travelling in running.
"The run was always going to come because they had gone so hard up front."
He said Ian Verning had told him the mare would win races after her work and first run.
"Spud said she'll win races."
Verning was delighted.
"She won well," Verning said.
"It was a good drive by Tommy too. I'd just like to thank the sponsors as well."
* Tamworth Harness Racing Club races again on Thursday, August 4, nominations for which close 9.30am this Friday.
