In one of the largest citizenship ceremonies the region has seen, 37 people representing 10 nations took the pledge to official become Australians at Tamworth Regional Council chambers on Wednesday.

Tamworth has so many new faces council is holding a citizenship ceremony every two months. So far this year TRC has welcomed 65 new Australian citizens.
France, Egypt, Spain, Canada, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and more were represented at the ceremony.
Mayor Col Murray said the ceremony was one of the biggest he had presided over since he was first elected.
“We used to have a every citizenship ceremony three months and now a ceremony is held every two months,” Cr Murray said.
“It is just another sign of how the Tamworth region is seen as a friendly place to live with a good quality lifestyle.”
