She describes herself as "Australia's small town storyteller", having made a tree change from Sydney to Sawtell in 2004, before hitting the road in a campervan a few years ago to pursue her love of writing.
McLeod published her first novel, House for all Seasons, in 2013 and has just released her fourth book, The Other Side of the Season.
She said her travels through regional Australia brought her into contact with all sorts of quirky characters and amazing stories that provided the perfect inspiration for her books, including a Tamworth family she plans to reveal more about at her author talk at the Tamworth Library on Saturday.
McLeod's calling into Tamworth on her way to the Mudgee Readers' Festival, the perfect chance for her many local fans to find out more about the author and her tales of country life.
