It's amazing that one man can have the power to ban greyhound racing. I thought we lived under a democracy, not a dictatorship!

October start for road project
One of the big problems at this roundabout and a few others in town are the bushes and flowers that grow in the middle. You can't see what the on coming traffic are doing which creates a bottleneck. I have taken note in other towns with their roundabouts. The roundabouts with no or low plant life have a great flow rate of traffic. Will they make the same mistake with the new roundabout? And also block off the Spotlight entries. In fact if they removed the plants and blocked off the Spotlight entries it would increase traffic by 50% or more. A lot less then spending millions of dollars.

Why worry about plant matter on roundabouts when people don't know the road rules like GIVE WAY TO ALL TRAFFIC ON a roundabout. Sick of nearly been smashed at the Calala roundabout. Sydney road towards Tamworth cars just go through - only one lane in and two out and if I exit I exit left lane to turn left at Vera.

I was told once by a traffic engineer that the plants are put there so that drivers do in fact HAVE to stop and slow down and make them look for oncoming traffic. I understand your frustration, I also think the same thing, it would be much easier to have roundabouts like the one near the police station, these ones allow for a steady flow, but maybe the shrubbery was placed on majority of roundabouts for safety reasons. We will never quite understand.
