Blundell, who lives on his family’s property in Stanthorpe and rose to fame after winning Star Maker in 1987, said he loved playing in the art deco theatres around the country.
The set will be a mix of older songs going back to his first album, through to new tracks from Come On In.
“It’s been a really interesting couple of years where I’ve dug right back in the catalogue,” Blundell said.
“Briar (Blundell’s son) turns 18 in December and he’s asking a lot of really interesting questions about my career, so it’s been really interesting digging back into those songs and he’s been really instrumental in bringing back older songs from This Road.”
Blundell said he’s getting ready to celebrate 30 years in the music business and will celebrate with an anthology with some new songs with a newly inked distribution deal with Sony.
“I am excited about the relationship with Sony because I think they’ve got the best ideas on conventional and digital marketing,” he said.
“I’m just going to work on new songs and playing – September and October are the busiest months.”
The singer-songwriter said he still loved the music industry and loved working with young artists.
“Music really is one of the few things where maturing is a good thing,” he said.
“You know what you want to say now.”
Blundell plays Quirindi’s Royal Theatre on Saturday.
