If you haven’t already voted, then, just like our candidates, you will be putting everything into this final week of the campaign.
It will be very interesting to see what this last week will bring, in terms of promises, claims and counter-claims, but you’d have to admit it’s a very good time to be a voter in New England.
So, we thought you should get to know your local political hopefuls a little better, through a series of profiles that we will be presenting every day this week.
We chose education, mining and renewables, jobs and infrastructure as the basis for questions that were presented to each of the 10 candidates, and then we compiled their responses.
They will appear in no particular order, as some of the candidates were harder to pin down than others.

Instead of voting “on”, surely it should be more voting “by” these days?
Just a thought.

But surely it is us who should be saying thanks and good luck.
While there were plenty of smiling faces yesterday, it was indeed a sad occasion, marking the end of the company’s 38-year association with the city.
The factory will shut up shop this week, and will be completely shut down by September, with the loss of 30 jobs.
