We visited a range of significant places in the local area and learned about the local history from Aboriginal presenters.
Simon Taylor talked to students about the history of the Kamilaroi people at the 'Kamilaroi A Highway, A People' display at the Liverpool Plains Visitor Information Centre in Willow Tree.
At Wallabadah, we toured the First Fleet Memorial Gardens and learned about the early settlers.
Students travelled to Pine Ridge, where Mr Taylor showed us some axe grinding grooves and talked about the traditional people of the land.
We were joined by the Gomeroi dancers who performed stories and dances for the students, followed by a traditional smoking ceremony.
