ASCA stands for Australian Speech Communications Association and they promote and help the development of oral communication and listening skills.
ASCA examinations are carried out in early term three and are open to children in Years 2-6.
If your child is interested in participating in ASCA this year please see Mr Jackson.
There is a cost to cover adjudicators travel and accommodation.
The staff encourage children to be involved in this valuable program as it instils a sense of pride, confidence and ability to speak in larger groups.
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and National Simultaneous Story time
On Wednesday May 25 we participated in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and National Simultaneous Story Time.
Thank you to all the parents and community members who supported our fundraising efforts, either by baking or attending the morning tea.
Our theme for the morning tea was The Mad Hatter's Tea Party which tied in with the book chosen for National Simultaneous Story Time entitled "I Got This Hat".
After watching a podcast of the book the students split into groups and listened to parents and grandparents read their favourite books as part of our Read More in May focus week.
