This is the second year that the competitors, aged between 7 and 16, will compete against other swimmers from across the region at the carnival, club publicity officer Kylie Wright said.
“After a month’s break after the summer swim season, the competitors have returned to training for the Orange carnival this weekend,” Wright said.
“Winners this weekend will qualify for the NE & NW SC Area Championships which will be held in Armidale on June 19.
“We also have swimmers training hard for the NSW Country SC Championships in Sydney on July 2 and 3,” she said.
Kootingal-Moonbi Swimming Club president Chris Walsh, said “this carnival is a great trip away for our swimmers and a fantastic way to start the winter swimming season”.
