The show is in its sixth year at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC) and support has come from motor car and motorcycle clubs and private owners from all parts of eastern Australia.
Event organiser Neville Evans said they strive to display a different line-up of vehicles each year, with very few exhibits being seen a second time over the show’s six-year history.
This year the show will feature Chevrolet Corvettes, with the vehicles on display spanning all seven generations from 1956 through to 2014.
“If you own a car, you will be excited by the display of ’Vettes,” Mr Evans said.
For something different this year, there’ll also be two slot car tracks, one a circuit, and the other a drag strip, where members of the public can test their skills.
The vehicle line-up this year includes classics, show cars, hotrods, motorcycles, race cars and trucks as well as a couple of tractors.
Special guest will be V8 supercar hero and four-time Bathurst 1000 winner Steven Richards, who will be about tomorrow to autograph memorabilia and chat with members of the public and again tomorrow night as guest speaker for the event dinner.
The police will also show off their latest law enforcement weapon, a big black Ford F150 “Raptor” 4WD American pickup truck, which is fully kitted for highway patrol duties.
Also on site will be the Shannons Insurance ‘Big Rig’ semitrailer, and the Rotary Club of Tamworth West will be catering for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea/coffee from 9am daily.
Spectators will be able to cast a vote for their favourite car or bike with the favoured vehicle receiving the very prestigious People’s Choice trophy.
The trophy presentation will take place in TRECC at 1pm Sunday.
Doors are open 9am on both days.
