The Greater Building Society has changed its name to Greater Bank, becoming Australia’s newest customer-owned bank.
Chief executive officer Scott Morgan said the name change was about better reflecting the full range of banking products and services it offered.
“Greater Bank will continue to put customers first with great rates and low fees, and support for the community. The new name is part of our constant evolution to remain a viable challenger to the big banks for local people,” he said.
The Greater Charitable Foundation retains its name and will continue to be funded from the bank’s profits to support charities that improve the lives of families and communities throughout NSW and south-east Queensland.
The Greater opened its Gunnedah branch in 1980 and also has branches in Tamworth and Armidale. New signage will be progressively rolled out at its three New England branches.
