The Grammy-winning pair, who performed together at the 15th and final American Idol finale at the weekend, will be out for Urban's Ripcord tour, promoting his eighth studio album.
Urban and Underwood last toured together eight years ago on the Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing Carnival Ride tour.
"The last time we brought our tour to Australia the energy level was off the hook – unlike anything that we'd ever seen before," said Urban in a statement on his website. "And I can tell you now, that the music on this album Ripcord, is born of and made for playing live. It's gonna go to a whole other level and I can't wait to get it airborne!!"
Underwood, who won American Idol in 2005, also duets with Urban on Ripcord on a track called The Fighter.
Now that Urban has wrapped up his American Idol duties after four years on the show, he's heading out on an extensive tour of the US before reaching Australia and his first show in Adelaide on December 6. The tour then heads to Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
