This annual event provides a wonderful networking opportunity not only for the high school educational leaders of the Tamworth community, but student leaders who make valuable connections and share their experiences as official school representatives.
Principals, deputy principals, captains, vice-captains and student body representatives were in attendance, including:
■ NSW Department of Education public schools director Ruythe Dufty;
■ Tamworth High School principal Daniel Wilson and wife Kim (who is the student learning support officer at THS), deputy principal Dale Rands, acting deputy principal Catherine Loughrey, Year 12 adviser Stephen Porter, and school captains Jessie Browne and Benjamin Crocker;
■ Peel High School principal Bill Campbell and wife Judy, and school captains Nathan Godley and Olivia Flynn;
■ Oxley High School deputy principal Wendy Blaker, and school captains Anna Falkenmire and Harrison Lewin;
■ Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School acting principal Clint Gallagher, school captain Cameron Thorne, boarding vicecaptain Hayden Loughrey and day vice-captain George Gardiner;
■ Calrossy Anglican School principal Elisabeth Jackson, and school captains Bill Buster and Chrystal Mills;
■ Carinya Christian School principal David Jones, and student leaders Blake Neighbour and Liyu Tenkir; and
■ McCarthy Catholic College principal Geoff McManus, and school captains Dominic Sills and Olivia Dillon.
The highlight of the evening was a speech by Tamworth Regional Council corporate planner Julia Farina, a past Tamworth High School captain. Her role with TRC is to co-ordinate, manage and lead its integrated planning and reporting function. Julia’s work is focused by a goal to improve the way business is delivered and received, internally in an organisation and externally to our community – achieving through leading by example.
The Tamworth High School hospitality department staff and students catered for the evening, which was very well received, and was served by the Tamworth High School prefect body.
All meals were delivered out of the school’s commercial kitchen, as it is a VET provider.
