Our theme this year was “I belong. You belong. We belong”, which was a perfect reflection of our school community.
After interviewing a number of staff members and students and asking them what these words meant to them, a common theme of “love” and “family” was articulated when linking this year’s theme to their time at school.
It was certainly evident across both campuses as the children and their families celebrated the occasion in such a special way. We began the week with our years 2 and 5 family mass, a hearty barbecue breakfast, liturgies and time in the classroom with our families.
Heartfelt thanks to Sally Clarke, Mrs Willis and our dedicated teachers for organising the week’s activities.
It was truly fabulous to be able to showcase learning and teaching at its best at St Edward’s School.
It was also a wonderful privilege for our school captains and Mrs Long to be in Armidale last Wednesday as part of Catholic Schools Week.
The day began with mass in St Mary’s and St Joseph’s Cathedral at 11am and concluded with the presentation of the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards. Amelia Fauchon and Thomas Littlejohns read the prayers of intercession at the mass.
The students thoroughly enjoyed being part of the formalities and were fine ambassadors for our school.
