Sponsored by the Clifton Family again, the competition was strong.
Longyard Men’s Foursomes champions for 2016 are John Trevaskis and Richard McGhie.
They had a great score of 72 whilst young NIAS squad members Tom Gill and Andrew Brennan were runners/up with a good two over par 74.
The Ladies Champions are Jude Jackson and Marj Handley who had 99, winning by five shots from Jo Ruttley and Sandra Lynch 104.
Men’s nett winners were Matt and Nathan Jolliffe (69.5) from Matt and Terry McCulloch (72) with Cec Bayliss and Tony Mulhall (73) third.
Ladies nett winners were Robyn Pritchard and Marg Daley (75.5).
The Longyard Mixed Foursomes Championships were played on Sunday.
The gross events were sponsored by Ian and Rhonda Burkinshaw with Richard McGhie and Jude Jackson (86) winning the gross from Phil and Robyn Penman (88).
Nett winners were Wayne Turner and Wendy Ryan (71.5) with Robert “Chesty” Bannister and Joy Freudenstein-Muller (78) second.
Longyard publicity officer Trevor Leese says the Jerry Masters Memorial Day is fast approaching and will be run Saturday, February 20.
The Stoney Creek 3 Ball Classic is also on Sunday, February 21 and is a 9am shotgun start.

Junior golf also resumed at the Longyard last Sunday with a good rollup.
The juniors will now play each Sunday morning at 8am until further notice.
The Beginner/Returning Golfer Clinics resumed on Tuesday and will run for four weeks each Tuesday from 8.30am.
