Through citizenship, students were also recognised for their continual positive support for the school and its surroundings ensuring the school is respected, students are cared for and the grounds are kept tidy.
It was wonderful to see the expression on students faces of complete surprise as their names were called out.
It was great to witness students who really have put in the hard work being recognised for their efforts.
Among the recipients on the day were some adults.
Committed adults who have been undertaking TAFE lessons throughout the year at the school. Hillvue School has a room set up specifically for TAFE.
It is always hard to recognise every student or adult through presentation of a certificate who has applied themselves well, achieved positive results in math or English, accomplished personal bests, obtained sporting achievements or entertained audiences. Out of hundreds of students only a few are selected. Therefore, it is important for us to continually acknowledge the efforts and achievements of everyone through positive praises, by lending a hand, giving a pat on the back, a hand shake, encouragement to see things through, and saying thank you.
By doing these natural, motivational, everyday actions we will be creating a wonderful place where everyone achieves results and encourages people to continually develop in self- confidence, education and resilience.
At presentation day, time was taken to recognise the commitment and dedication of 21 years of leading and teaching at Hillvue.
Since 1994 Mrs Galvin has touched many lives during her time at Hillvue by putting in place the values, compassion and leadership.
Being a valued team member who is always supporting her colleagues and assisting students in every aspect of education, Mrs Galvin will be extremely missed.
We certainly wish Mrs Galvin the very best as she and her husband take a new direction leaving Tamworth behind and heading off into the sunrise or sunset.
