Steve Haylen and Gary Jones have been appointed first grade co-coaches, while John and Mick Deakin will guide the reserves and well-known touch identity Paul Benkovic and Mick Barnes take the reins of the Under 18s.
The club, however, is yet to name a mentor for the women’s league tag side.
Rams president Kurt Dial said he was more than happy with the appointments.
“They’re all local blokes – that’s something we really wanted to do.
“It’s an opportunity to build a new culture at the club – a family-orientated atmosphere,” he said.
“We have a good flow-on from our junior ranks and I’m sure the coaches (we’ve appointed) know how to bring out the best in them.”
Dial admitted 2016 would not be a “rebuilding period” for the Rams.
“Quite simply, we want to make the semis,” he said.
“Steve (Haylen) and Gary (Jones) bring professionalism to the club, as well as knowledge and experience.
“They’ve enjoyed terrific success with our Under 18s in the past.
“Hopefully, that will translate to the seniors.
“Mick (Barnes) is a former NSW Country Under 17 coach.
“I’m confident they’ll all work well together and the Rams, as a whole, will benefit,” he said.
Dial said the club would host its first training session on Sunday, December 6, at Olympic Park from 9am.
“Afterwards, we’ll have a barbecue and Christmas party at the Muswellbrook Golf Club,” he said.
“There will be entertainment for the kids and a visit from Santa, as well as a sign-on day.
“Everyone is looking forward to the upcoming season.
“We have a new major sponsor in the Muswellbrook Golf Club.
“It’s brilliant to have them on board in 2016.
“The venue is great for after-match functions – it’s a perfect partnership.
“We’ll also conduct raffles at the golf club every Friday from 6pm.”
