A HARRISON Hague hat-trick highlighted Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School’s eight-wicket Gleeson Shield semi-final win over Narrabri at Tamworth’s TRECC Oval yesterday.

Hague cleaned up the Narrabri tail to claim four wickets, including his hat-trick, in his only over.
He took 4-0 from his over as Narrabri plummeted to be all out for 62 in 17 overs.
Farrer then cruised to 2-66 in just 16.2 overs to earn a final berth against Inverell High in the new year.
Opener Lachlan Fauchon (31no) and Lachlan Cooke (19) smacked eight boundaries between them as their side rushed to an easy win after another Lachlan, skipper Lachlan Davidson, had created plenty of early trouble for Narrabri.
Davidson (3-22 from 6 overs) and fellow opening bowler Brock Ridgewell (1-19 off 5) had the Narrabri batsmen in early trouble with Davidson picking up the prize scalps of NSW Country Under 17 Ryan Meppem for nine and CNZ Bradman Cup wicketkeeper Coby Cornish for 17.
Cornish and Aaronn Baker (11) had put on 27 for the fourth wicket after Narrabri had slumped to 3-15 but when Cornish became Davidson’s third victim the Farrer bowlers took control.
Adam Cruickshank (1-11) and Alex Roseby (1-7) also jumped in for a wicket apiece but it was Hague who ended the visitors’ innings quickly.
“Harrison hadn’t been bowling that well this season,” Farrer coach Dave Olrich told The Leader. “He was our best last season but was out of form so far although he had been bowling well in grade.”
Hague’s hat-trick wasn’t a first for the side either.
“Cooper Barnes got a double hat-trick in our last game,” Olrich said of a young man unavailable for yesterday’s match as he was refereeing in the Australian Touch Championships in Adelaide.
“We play Inverell now,” Olrich added.
“They beat Gunnedah earlier this week and have a pretty good side with Tom Scoble, Sage Cook and Joe Smith.”
Scoble played in the Australian Under 17 Championships with NSW Country/ACT earlier this season but has been out of action with stress fractures.
“He might play as a batsman,” Olrich said of the talented left arm paceman.
For Ryan Meppem it was a disappointing day.
The Narrabri skipper said his side never “scored enough runs” although batting was tough early.
“Lachlan (Davidson) bowled well early.
“Batting at this end (southern) was difficult. He bowled good line and angled them in and swung them away.”
