TAMWORTH District Cricket Association has offered a reward to anyone with information about the vandalism of Riverside 2, after the field was ripped apart for the second time in a month on Thursday night or yesterday morning.

The centre square and outfield grass surfaces have been torn up by the vandals.
Their destruction of the community field has marred a junior cricket gala day for 16 primary schools.
That, like many other games, will have to be moved to other fields, Tamworth District Cricket Association (TDCA) secretary Hayley Bullock advised. “It’s absolutely disgusting,” Ms Bullock told The Leader.
“They have done quite a lot of damage down there again. The centre square has been ripped apart and the outfield has been destroyed.
“They will have to top-dress the outfield now, but they (Tamworth Regional Council) don’t have the time or the resources.”
Ms Bullock said the TRC had promised bollards around the various grounds, and security cameras at Riverside but none had been forthcoming.
The TDCA is trying to organise a meeting with the council to ensure these promises are kept.
Security gates at Riverside were also supposed to be locked at 7pm each night, but somehow the vandals sidestepped those.
“We’re offering a reward for anyone with information about these vandals,” Ms Bullock said.
Along with the junior gala day, the regular-grade competition will also be affected, while the annual Tamworth Premier League Twenty20 competition will now start on Dick Edwards Oval (Riverside 1) and Max Sutton Oval (Riverside 3) next Friday.
