The exams kick off with English, which is the only mandatory test for all students and takes place over two days.
English paper one includes short answers, creative writing and a long essay on the topic ‘Discovery’.
The second paper takes place on Tuesday and comprises three essays on different texts the students have been studying.
While there are dozens of ways to study, the traditional methods such has palm cards and revision are still the favourites.
“In the first week of the holidays we went to English study classes, which our teachers organised, and everyone helped each other out,” Shanae said.
And when the stress levels get to high, getting out of the house is the best medicine. “We always go to the lookout or the park, play on the swings or just relax with a movie day – anything to step away from the books,” Rebecca said.
“Crying and chocolate helps as well,” Shanae said, laughing.
