The group, from Hai Quan Meat, a leading supplier of beef and lamb in the Guizhou province, is leaving Tamworth today after arriving last week for a three-day stay.
It follows an earlier visit by the group in December.
It is believed the group is interested in developing a livestock breeding and research centre in the Tamworth region.
“From what they saw then, they wanted to come back and talk more detail, and really see what opportunities there might be in the agricultural side,” Destination Tamworth manager Craig Dunstan, who, with Australian Agricultural Resources’ Mark Eather, toured with the group yesterday, said.
“That’s really what the last couple of days have been about ... showing them what we can do in Tamworth.
“Realistically, we haven’t sat down and really thrashed out the details just yet.
“The relationship side of things is really keen, and that’s what we’re trying to build stronger. I’m sure it will lead to business opportunities.
“We made a good first impression when they came out the last time; this time it’s been very much about building relationships.”
While in the city, the delegation had morning tea at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, visited the Big Golden Guitar, saw the Tamworth Regional Livestock Exchange in action during sheep and cattle sales, and popped into Aussie Bush Leather to look at locally made items.
