As part of National Reconciliation Week, people from the Indigenous and non-Indigenous community will be invited to make a handprint.
The tiles will symbolise building strong ties and will be put on display as a constant reminder to the community.
The event will take place at Ray Walsh House on Peel St from 10am, with musical performances from Westdale Public School students and the Gomeroi Dance Company and a formal flag raising ceremony.
Aboriginal elder Bob Faulkner will give the Welcome to Country and a smoking ceremony will be performed by elder Len Waters.
National Reconciliation Week is held between May 27 and June 3, with May 27 marking the anniversary of the 1967 referendum which removed discriminatory clauses from the constitution, and June 3 signalling the 1992 Mabo decision where the High Court of Australia recognised native title.
