Higgins, is planning on bringing back a whole lot of memories from her trip “across the ditch”.
Ms Higgins left Tamworth on Wednesday bound for New Zealand, and her 11-day
itinerary will include a visit to the Gore Country Music Festival, where she’ll serve as an official ambassador for her home town.
During her stay in the Kiwi country music capital she’ll attend the New Zealand Country Music Awards and was looking forward to the “Freeze Ya Bits Off” Busking Competition.
Ms Higgins, who has not previously visited New Zealand, said she was “extremely proud” to be representing Tamworth.
“I love Tamworth and all that it has to offer, especially the country music festival,” she said. “I’m looking forward to being able to share all the good things about Tamworth with people I meet in Gore and building on the strong Sister City relationship.”
Tamworth has a reciprocal arrangement to host the Gore Young Ambassador during the January festival.
