Corey James Hall appeared in the dock of Tamworth Local Court yesterday afternoon where he was charged with one count of aggravated break-and-enter and commit a serious, indictable offence, namely stealing, in connection to the ramraid at Country Auctions in the early hours of April 26.
Hall is also facing another break-and-enter offence and a stolen motor vehicle charge, both stemming from a break-in reported at a Larool St home prior to the alleged hit on the business.
Hall, who was supported by several family members in the court, pleaded not guilty to all three charges yesterday, but guilty to one count of contravening an AVO.
Magistrate Michael Holmes has ordered police compile a brief of evidence and has adjourned the case to later this month.
The 20-year-old is also facing 12 other charges relating to separate incidents and pleaded guilty to three counts, while denying the remaining charges.
Hall made no application for bail yesterday, but the case has been referred to the DPP because of the serious nature of the ramraid-related charge.
The fresh charge comes less than a day after the Oxley Target Action Group issued an appeal for information in The Leader yesterday.
Sergeant Geoff Sharpe confirmed late yesterday that police were still appealing for public help to identify a second person seen in CCTV of the alleged ramraid, or that someone might have seen the driver of the blue Holden Commodore in Tamworth after midnight on April 26.
The car, which was reported stolen from Larool St, was found dumped on the corner of Warburton Rd and Evans St at Westdale, while a cash register stolen during the ramraid on Country Auctions was recovered by police in Chauvel Park in West Tamworth.
Police said the outstanding offender was described as 170cm-180cm tall, with a thin build and he was last seen wearing jeans and a hooded jumper.
Anyone with information on the incidents or the identity of those involved is urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
