The SES says several teams of volunteers from Barraba, Narrabri and Tambar Springs as well as other New England units have been deployed to the Hunter area to assist with storm damage operations.
The SES says the deployment will run for 36 hours.
Meanwhile, New England passengers are being urged to double check their travel arrangements with transport in and out of Sydney and the Hunter still impacted by bad weather.
The first flight out of Sydney bound for Tamworth has been delayed by more than an hour with passengers expecting rolling delays across the route throughout the day.
The early morning flight from Tamworth to Sydney took more than an hour and a half before passengers touched down in Sydney, while the 8.40am service to Sydney was expected to take longer than usual, touching down after 10am.
The mid-morning flight as well as the lunch time flights have already been delayed, with Sydney Airport still experiencing delays of up to an hour on most domestic flights.
The early morning flight out of Moree was also delayed by half an hour, with Armidale also delayed, and the mid-morning service cancelled to Sydney.
Rex Airlines have delayed its Armidale flights bound for Sydney, with one service not set to take off until three and a half hours after its scheduled departure.
On the ground, rail services have also been thrown into chaos with buses replacing trains from Moree, Armidale and Tamworth through to Sydney.
The return passengers in Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter will also be placed on buses with NSW TrainLink forecasting the bus trips will add up to an hour to the journey times.
And NSW police have released useful contact numbers and websites re: flooding, traffic & transport and weather conditions.
