Alfred Irving has admitted to breaking into the Byron St business on Thursday night, after he was identified on the town’s CCTV cameras in the street.
Just after 11.30pm, Inverell police were patrolling the CBD when they noticed a smashed window in the business.
Officers contacted the shop owner who arrived and noticed that property had been stolen.
Police were able to view the council’s CCTV, and identified the man and the direction he took when he left.
He was traced to a Clive St home with the stolen property.
He was arrested and charged with breaking, entering and stealing, and refused bail by police.
Irving pleaded guilty in Inverell Local Court yesterday. He was kept in custody and will face Moree Local Court next month for sentencing.
