Currabubula P&C Association president Veronica Filby said the first-ever boutique market was being held specifically to raise money for the school.
Mrs Filby said funds had been cut to many three-year-olds at the preschool whose families did not qualify as low-income earners, and had also been cut to remote-area schools.
“Preschools are in transition now to deal (with it),” Mrs Filby said.
“The preschool had considered shutting. Our preschool is a very valued resource here in our community and we want to make sure it stays open for our local residents.
“Our educators are amazing and all our children really enjoy their experiences there.”
The market is an initiative of the parents of children at both the school and preschool and will help to raise money for both facilities.
The P&C is chasing stallholders for the May 3 market in the school grounds between 9am and 1pm.
“We have some great local stallholders already booked in who will have handmade children’s clothes and accessories, ladies’ tote bags and vintage headwear, hair accessories, jewellery and body products,” she said.
The stall fee of $30 goes directly to helping the preschool keep its doors open for local children.
Potential stallholders should phone Veronica Filby on 0427 000 633.
